THE BODY SHOP produces skin and hair care products on a natural basis, which it mainly distributes either in company-owned or franchised The BODY SHOP stores. The company was founded in 1976 by Anita Roddick in Brighton, England, and has since then been growing immensely. Today there are more than 2,550 shops in 63 countries containing 12 time zones with 25 languages. Further expansion is planned into Asia and Eastern Europe.
Shop Design
In 2004 THE BODY SHOP’s new shop design ’SHOP ME’ was developed and implemented with great success. In September 2004 the first shop in Germany (in Hanover) was reconstructed accordingly – resulting in a growth in sales of 20 %.
In 2007 formwerk developed an additional, cost-optimized shop design. With this new design, a cost reduction of more than 20 % could be achieved though keeping a constant design quality.
Tasks
Planning and construction of all shops within the THE BODY SHOP’s branch network during its expansion in Germany and Austria. Constant optimizing of processes and construction costs.
Since 2005 transformation and integration of the re-designs ’SHOP ME’ and ’SHOP ME LIGHT’ for all existing stores.
Results
Since 1999 we are THE BODY SHOP’s single partner for store construction in Germany and Austria and responsible for planning and construction of more than 100 shops within the company’s expansion process.
Since 2005 all existing stores in Germany and Austria have been transformed within the refit program and more shops in further locations have been opened.
All locations are being looked after right around the clock by our facility management.
